Nathaniel Bradley Baker (September 29, 1818 – September 11, 1876) was an American politician and military leader who served as Governor of New Hampshire and Adjutant General of the Iowa Militia. ==Early life== Nathaniel B. Baker was born in Henniker, New Hampshire on September 29, 1818, and raised in West Concord. Nathaniel Baker graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy in 1834 and Harvard University. He then studied law under Franklin Pierce, Asa Fowler and Charles H. Peaslee and passed the bar in 1842.〔Leander Winslow Cogswell, (History of the Town of Henniker, Merrimack County, New Hampshire ), 1880, page 450〕
